Maxima 2 Flight

Maxima-2 launched yesterday (16 June 1999) at 7:08 PM.

The flight lasted 12 hours with more than 8 at float.
We observed Mars, the CMB dipole, and CMB anisotropy.
The instrument worked well, telemetry and commanding were
continuous and pointing was accurate for the entire flight.
The first report indicates no significant damage to the
payload upon impact.

The successful flight will more than double the size
of the Maxima CMB data set (counting only the night
portion of this flight).

Shaul - for the MAXIMA team.
